On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 jazz quartet "Stanley Maxwell" performed for the first time as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas on the First Niagara Stage, located on the New Haven Green in New Haven, Connecticut.

The group plays original music that blends tight arrangements with intricate group improvisations, combining the virtuosic and the simple into a visceral concoction. This was their first performance in New Haven since September 2014 at Common Ground’s "Feast from the Fields." Other previous appearances in New Haven have included Bottega, the New Haven Jazz Festival at the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament, Toad's Place, WYBC, and Yale University.
